Other than this is was a great imaging lens - but I have bought too many Canon dslr bodies based on Canons idea that they will change their bodies so that there is always and expensive upgrade handy.
The first RF bodies have already been up-sold and an even better one on the way and yet another a gleam in their engineers eyes. I have no intention of locking into the RF mount round-about. Too many EF lenses already. My dream lens is the mm F2.
Not sure why he used the E-M5ii for that test. No question the Olympus is sharper, the Canon is a quarter of a century older. That said, most of the images he shows where the Canon looks much softer are just where it obviously missed focus. The only shot in that entire video worth looking at is the mushroom shot where the Olympus pulls ahead but it's not like it's a night and day difference.

I prefer making camera bodies last and having a suite of re-useful lenses on many mount systems. But as you say they have no real incentive to make other makers lens work as well as their own But I find it annoying as I have more great Canon EF mount lenses than many have had hot dinners as the saying goes.
