Anybody can do the honors as long as they are strong enough. Sometimes lifters are appointed beforehand while others spontaneously run into the middle of the circle. Just make sure the musicians are aware that you want to do the hora at your wedding and make sure they know how long you want them to play the music as the length of the dance varies.
