Garner Lake has a nice but small sandy beach with yet another playground just pff the beach. The lake is large and has a shallow section roped off where kids can play without interfering with the watercraft in the deeper part of the lake.

The water seemed clean when we were there and the beach area free of rocks or weeds, and also the sand appeared to be cleaned and groomed daily. We were there August 21 to 26 when temperature ranged from 20C to 25C each day. Saturday the campground was full but from Sunday onward the campground was no more than half full each day.

The beach was fairly comparable for activity each day despite the warm weather. Over all I would definitely recommend this campground for families or anyone who would like to camp in a relatively quiet old school campground.

We'll certainly be back next summer. We made our first visit on the May long weekend and liked this place. The campground is smaller, which is nice because it's quieter. The sites are pretty private - there were no leaves on the trees yet when we were there so it was a bit hard to judge. Hours for firewood are posted at the entrance, shower facilities aren't the best I've seen, so we opted to shower in the trailer. There is a nice trail with lookouts, shore fishing is a bit of a challenge, but lots of people brought boats for that.

We would visit Garner Lake again. Thank you. Amy S Edmonton, Canada contributions. Beautiful and scenic, great sites too! We camped here with our young family for the May long weekend.

The campsites are a lot larger and more private than we're used to, and we just loved the family feel of the campground. A bit early for swimming yet, but I can see this being an absolute hit when it gets warmer.

We also enjoyed fishing off the two docks, and were drooling at the thought of boating on the lake on a return trip. Lovely time, I hope we can come back again soon!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Our camping spot was very private and tree'd in and backed onto the lake. Great walking trails, nice beach, boat launch area! It's about a half and half mix of powered and non powered sites.

You also need to book in advance as there is no check in booth. We went May and were so surprised how empty the campsite was. Maybe other campers! If you're looking for a quiet tranquil escape this place is perfect! Minissi Edmonton, Canada 5 contributions. I found garner lake in the summer of and fell in love with it. We go times a year. It's clean, quiet, and so far the only place I've found that has a reasonable price for wood. Granted, I would love to not have to pay for wood, but it is what it is.

The parks staff are so friendly and helpful. We just love coming here as a family. This was our first visit here, it was such a great experience. The staff that looked after the campgrounds ,did such an amazing job and so friendly. Very clean ,garbage was collected daily. The campsites were spacious and well shaded.

We highly recommend this beautiful campground. We would like to thank the staff at Garner lake campground for doing such an amazing job.. We are definitely heading back there again this month. Loved this campsite. The beach is great The campsites are a little tight but they are very private. The campsite is well taken care of and very clean. Nice playground right beside the flush toilets and showers. There are trails everywhere so they will keep you going for hours! Definitely will be back!
